About the Tea
Black tea Earl Grey is made according to an old Chinese recipe. It was presented as a gift to the British Prime Minister, Earl Charles Grey II, during his travels in China. The tea quickly gained popularity not only in England but worldwide. Earl Grey tea is prepared from teas from Ceylon and Assam with high-quality organic bergamot oil. Therefore, it contains a higher content of tannins, which add bitterness to the flavor. Earl Grey can also be used in baking. Just add a small amount to melted butter or hot milk, strain, and proceed with the recipe. Give it a try.
Home Preparation
Pour a tablespoon of black tea Earl Grey (about 5 g) into 250 ml of boiling water and steep for 90 seconds. Traditionally, not only the English but also others enjoy it with milk, which further softens its taste. You can also sweeten the tea with cane sugar or honey.
