Rwanda Gatare

At mamacoffee, we strive every day to connect the quality of our coffee products with the positive social and economic impact on the farming communities with whom we have long-term partnerships. Falcon, from whom we had the opportunity to purchase our new Rwanda Gatare coffee, shares a similar approach to sustainability. A specific example of their work is their coffee project in Rwanda called Rwanda Trading Company (RTC).   Education and Support for Farmers Our collaboration and support do not end with "just" fair trade. Like RTC, which provides educational programs to improve the quality and yield of coffee for farmers, we at mamacoffee also support education and specific projects that help local communities develop their agricultural skills and improve conditions on farms.     Direct Impact on Communities When we take a closer look at RTC's work in Rwanda in this particular case, we can see how positively their project has impacted the lives of farmers and their families. For example, the Gishyita washing station managed by RTC has seen a significant increase in coffee production, demonstrating how effective the combination of proper management and educat...

Black tea - Assam

Among black tea enthusiasts, Assam tea holds its unmistakable place. It originates from the fertile plains of northeastern India, the Assam region, and is known for its rich color, strong flavor, and pleasant astringent undertone. In this article, we'll explore the history, traditions, and unique characteristics that make Assam tea so popular worldwide. Assam, the region that is home to this tea, is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. Its humid, tropical climate and fertile soil are ideal for growing tea bushes. Mild winters and abundant monsoon rains give Assam tea its characteristic full-bodied flavor. More than half of India's annual tea production comes from this northeastern state.       The harvest of Assam tea is mainly done by hand, with pickers carefully selecting only the best leaves. Assam tea is known for its strong, full-bodied, and pleasantly astringent taste with a hint of earthiness. The color of the infusion is usually deep golden-brown to dark red. Its robust flavor profile is ideal for adding milk or spices, making it a popular choice for morning tea or as a base for blends like English breakfast tea. In addition to its taste...

Bio Nicaragua COASSAN Women’s Project

In today's coffee world, where authenticity and story carry as much weight as taste, mamacoffee brings something truly exceptional: Bio Nicaragua COASSAN Women’s Project. This coffee from Nicaragua is the result of collaboration between mamacoffee and six female farmers from the COASSAN cooperative in the Nicaraguan region of Jinotega. This project focuses on supporting women in the coffee world, where it can sometimes be difficult for them to assert themselves. Collaborating with these women not only helps develop their community but also brings to market coffee of very high quality, along with a unique story.       The coffee comes from an altitude ranging between 1,000 and 1,050 meters above sea level, which contributes to its unique profile. It is 100% Arabica, specifically from the Caturra, Catimor, Catuai, and Parainema varieties. Thanks to washed processing and medium roasting, this coffee offers a harmonious combination of milk chocolate tones with anise and red apples. The coffee is sweet with mild acidity and a medium body, making it ideal for preparing homemade espresso or in a moka pot.       This is a direct trade import under...

Nicaragua Norlan & Uriel

In the heart of the Nicaraguan region of Jinotega, coffee is born on the El Progreso and Linda Vista farms, which is more than just a beverage. For the Chavarría family, led by Salomon and his sons Norlan and Uriel, coffee is a family tradition and culture that was established by their ancestor Benito Chavarría. This family legacy continues with a constant emphasis on quality and flavor, which is the key to their success in the specialty coffee world.       Our journey with the Chavarría family began in 2018, shortly after the launch of our first Nicaraguan project - the Aranjuez Women’s Project. Although these projects are different, they share the same basic goal: to import excellent specialty coffee, support small local farmers, and adhere to responsible, ethical, and sustainable trade. Economic support is just one part of the success mosaic, where technological, social, and environmental support play equally important roles. The Chavarría family is known for their determination to experiment and try new methods. In addition to the traditional washed processing method, they also explore other techniques such as the honey method or natural processing. With t...

Mamacoffee's fruit tea is a blend of the finest dried fruits complemented by natural aroma, magnesium carbonate, and citric acid. In this article, we'll explore what makes this tea unique and how you can best enjoy it. Fruit teas, similar to today's, emerged only in the second half of the 20th century, but they are now among the most popular beverages. In the Czech Republic and around the world, fruit teas are favored for their bold flavor and lack of caffeine. While the consumption of black and green teas is increasing, fruit teas are gaining more popularity due to their high vitamin C content and caffeine-free composition.       Our dried fruit tea is composed of carefully selected pieces of dried apple, beetroot, elderberries, raisins, blackberries, and red currants. This combination creates a balanced, gently sweet, and mildly acidic taste. Whether you enjoy the tea hot or chilled, its rich flavor will refresh and delight you. Besides being great on its own, the tea can also be used as a base for various cocktails, whether alcoholic or non...

Brasil fazenda Olhos D'Agua

This story began several years ago when we first visited the farm of Paulo Toledo in the heart of Brazil. But it all actually started much earlier, thanks to the historical legacy of the Czech shoemaker Bata. His employees traveled to the city of Franca near Sao Paulo to establish the shoemaking industry there. Today, this area is known not only for shoe production but also for excellent coffee. One of the descendants of these Zlín settlers knew about Paulo's desire to break through in the European market and our interest in direct collaboration with coffee farmers. Thanks to him, we met Paulo, and our mutually inspiring cooperation began.       We don't just buy his coffee – we share our years of experience with him and provide him with feedback. This allows us to increase the overall quality of the coffee every year. Paulo is not only a great farmer but also a man with a big heart. He takes care of his employees like family, and we are proud to be part of this story.       With every sip, you'll be surprised by rich tones of sweet chocolate, hazelnuts, and raisins. This Mundo Nuovo variety coffee is exceptional for its low acidity and nat...
