About the Tea
Good jasmine tea is created by scenting high-quality green tea with jasmine flowers. This aroma process occurs only at night when the sweet-smelling jasmine flowers are in full bloom. Every evening, young jasmine flowers are spread over the drying green tea leaves and left overnight. In the morning, the flowers are collected. This process is repeated for eleven consecutive nights. The tea leaves absorb the jasmine scent, which is then noticeable in the tea infusion. Jasmine flowers are carefully removed from the tea; none remain in the final product.
Home Preparation
When preparing green jasmine tea, water temperature is crucial. Steep one teaspoon of tea (about 3 g) in 250 ml of water at 80°C for 1.5 minutes. Multiple infusions can be obtained from the same tea leaves.
